I don't think Newt will join in. If he knows what's good for him. He really shouldn't embarrass himself like that. Why doesn't he just go quietly into the night as I suspect W will once he's a civilian again?
You know, when W leaves office and is actually a civilian, I doubt anyone will pay any attention to him at all. The only difference is that he'll still have the Secret Service hovering around him and massive amounts of $$$ he made from this war.
A couple of the guys where I work are Republicans. They INSIST that we had to get rid of Saddam and invade Iraq, otherwise, the terrorists would be over here. They're afraid that if a Dem president gets into office, our security would be compromised. I raised that question that 9/11 happened SIX years ago, and why hasn't there been ANOTHER major attack over here SINCE???? They are convinced that it's coming...So which terror alert are we in? Is it Bert, Ernie or BIG BIRD???
I did, however, agree with one of them about letting immigrants in. We both said that there needs to be something put into place that regulates them coming in through ALL borders, and that we aren't responsible for paying for their medical or supporting them through Welfare. If they want to take the proper channels that a lot of OUR OWN immigrant family members did, that would be more than acceptable. You need to earn your way like everyone else.
On aver., however, one of my coworkers made the observation that politics won't be an issue we'll speak of often. The other guy is plain out racist. Hmmm...That explains a lot, doesn't it? I wonder where HIS Haliburton check is. They also insist that this war has NOTHING TO DO with oil. Can you BELIEVE that shit??????
My question I posed to each of them was this: Okay. So where is Osama bin Laden???? Aren't we supposed to be looking for HIM???? Their answer? The same bullshit that W spews. Sorry. That answer doesn't fly.
I also told them that those people in the Middle East have been the way they are for centuries, and they need to either blow themselves up or figure out how to govern their own damn country because our men and women are going to continue to get killed FOR NOTHING. We're going to continue to put our country at a deficit while the workforce continues as it is. It sucks, y'all, let's face it. Fighting for our freedom? No we aren't. War = MONEY. Profits for the ones who started it. That's their only motivation. They don't give a shit because THEIR precious kids and grandkids aren't going over there getting slaughtered.
